Lisa Maxwell

Rated as one of the top 100 most influential people in the staffing industry, the name Lisa Maxwell has become synonymous with global executive search. A founding partner of Gerard Stewart, Lisa is a 20-year veteran of the human capital industry with an unparalleled track record for placing CEOs, C-level executives and board members for staffing firms around the world.

Lisa is best known for her broad network of industry contacts and proven assessment for precise cultural fit. She is also credited with building executive teams for several of the largest staffing firms globally, which is why global executives insist on her expertise– Lisa looks beyond qualifications and vets candidates to see how well they will adapt to a company’s climate.

At Gerard Stewart, she manages multi-country assignments that range from emerging growth enterprises to global leaders in executive search and recruitment, and span across many industries, including: staffing services, recruitment process outsourcing, human resources outsourcing, information technology services and professional services.

Before founding Gerard Stewart in 2005, Lisa was a senior partner with the Lucas Group where she was one of the leading revenue-producing recruiters, as well as a repeated member of the President’s Club. She graduated from Purdue University with a BA in International Business and Spanish.

Scott Merkle

Scott Merkle is a Partner with the firm and has played a crucial role in building out executive teams for emerging and growth companies globally. With almost two decades of leadership experience in the Technology and Outsourcing industries, Scott brings a wealth of business knowledge to Gerard Stewart and his clients. His consultative style has distinguished him as a trusted advisor to leaders at companies in HRO, Talent Management Software and IT Services.

By drawing on his industry and consulting experience, Scott quickly comprehends clients’ unique needs, targeting candidates possessing cultural compatibility and the ability to drive organizational success.

Scott’s corporate career has provided him with a blend of global consulting and industry experience, the basis for his deep understanding of diverse cultures and talent requirements. A Vice President with Seagall Software, Scott was primarily responsible for the resources that enabled the firm to service and expand their customer base through technology, sales processes and delivery alternatives. He also held leadership positions in outsourced customer support and IT Services with DecisionOne and Sterling Software. With both domestic and global management experience, Scott manages with the belief that people are the key delivery tool to any service oriented business.

Scott received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lycoming College.

Sara Boyd

A leader in the executive search and staffing industries, Sara Boyd has over 25 years of experience in executive search and human capital leadership.

Sara joined Gerard Stewart from Nelson Staffing where she was a Senior Vice President and led the professional services division. In this role, she was recognized for strategic business planning and operational leadership. She hired and developed many of the company’s successful senior managers and was responsible for the re-organization, rebranding and expansion of the accounting and finance professional services division. A top producer, she was consistently awarded with President’s and Chairman’s Club leadership awards.

Prior to Nelson, Sara served as member of the executive team with Ajilon. As Senior Vice President, she was responsible for providing strategic direction and fostering market expansion. She also led the most profitable and highest revenue producing office in the company for several years.

Sara is a graduate of University of Colorado and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Alisson Ruhala

As Director of Operations, Alisson oversees knowledge management and research for Gerard Stewart. Building on fifteen years of technology support and information management experience, she facilitates technology transitions, maintains the firm’s database, and manages research functions and reporting. She spearheaded the transition from a legacy database to a customized deployment of Salesforce. During the transition, she worked closely with the development team to customize the interface and handled the import of all the firm’s CRM data. She contributes to Gerard Stewart’s knowledge base with Internet based research and generates client metrics. She also manages specialized consulting engagements including compensation studies, market research and competitive analysis projects.

Prior to joining Gerard Stewart, Alisson worked in technology and communications. Her early career included operations and technology support for Lockheed Martin based in Orlando, Florida.

Alisson holds an International Baccalaureate Degree and graduated from Rollins College with a Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology.

Julie O’Neill

Julie O’Neill is a 25-year veteran of the executive search and recruitment industry and Joint Managing Director at McCall, a recruitment-to-recruitment agency that works with the Gerard Stewart family of companies. Julie spearheads senior, boardroom, and executive appointments, as well as joint ventures and mergers & acquisitions throughout the U.K. and Europe. Julie excels in recruiting talent for the boardroom and senior executive suite. She brings to each engagement a deep knowledge of employment services along with a powerful network of contacts, a strong work ethic, and the intuitive people skills to effectively evaluate candidates and serve clients.

Priot to her work with McCall and Gerard Stewart, Julie spent four years with Adecco’s Ajilon brand. A member of the Citibank Steering Committee, she offered her expertise in accountancy and finance recruitment. Building on an earlier career with Select Appointments, London, as Area and Home Counties Manager, she was a top biller and manager of the region’s number-one office.

Nick Bancroft

Nick Bancroft is Joint Managing Director in London for McCall, the international recruitment-to-recruitment partner of Gerard Stewart. Nick champions 17 years in the international executive search industry. His consultative partnership approach, combined with a sterling business reputation and strong industry connections, contributes to his success and long-lasting client relationships. Specializing in senior- and director-level appointments, as well as professional services in London, Nick began his executive search career with Alexander Mann where he served as Divisional Managing Director of Retail, FMCG and IT recruitment.

Nick later became head of IT Recruitment at Robert Walters, a consulting firm for professional recruitment, where he was tasked with overseeing the IT recruitment division.

Nick earned degrees in Economics and Politics from the University of London.

Dan Knought

Building upon a highly regarded career spanning over 15 years in executive search, Dan Knought is one of the founders of Gerard Stewart. Dan specializes in securing effective leaders for venture capital backed start-ups, private equity portfolio companies, management consulting firms, sovereign wealth funds and Islamic banks. His commitment to a swift and well-defined search process has set the companywide standard of excellence for which Gerard Stewart has become known.

Dan and Lisa Maxwell launched Gerard Stewart in 2005 as an international expansion of McCall initially serving the search community and have since led the company through a decade of growth in a broad range of industries. Today, Gerard Stewart is a global, full-service retained executive search firm serving businesses across a broad range of industries. Dan’s appreciation of diverse cultures and customs has contributed to his tremendous global success, most notably in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
