Gerard Stewart Founder and Managing Partner Lisa Maxwell Named to 2019 Global Power 150 Women in Staffing List

November 18, 2019 – Gerard Stewart founder and managing partner Lisa Maxwell has once again been named to Staffing Industry Analysts’ Global Power 150 Women in Staffing list. This year marks the fifth year Maxwell has been named to the list.

“The women named to this year’s Global Power 150 list play an important role in bringing value to the workforce solutions ecosystem, elevating not only the bottom line for their organizations but lifting up their teams through a passionate focus on employee development and creation of positive and inclusive cultures in which talent thrives,” said Subadhra Sriram, editor and publisher, media products, at SIA.

As an international leader in executive search specializing in the human capital industry, Maxwell has observed an increase in demand for women at the board and executive level. Advisory and private equity boards are calling on Maxwell and others to serve up more female executives to round out their boards and C-level positions.

“Historically, there have been a lot of women in human capital, but less so in the C-suite,” said Maxwell. “This year, expectations have shifted. More private equity groups are looking to diversify their boards and executive-level leadership with women. It’s been a welcomed change to take part in.”

Under Maxwell’s direction, Gerard Stewart has continued to grow – in revenue, offerings and influence.

“As the industry continues to mature, opportunities are expanding for new and alterative career paths, and it’s increasing interest from executives in other industries to join the human capital space,” said Maxwell. “It’s an exciting time as the industry matures and we’re able to attract executives from other industries into the dynamic business of human capital.”

In addition to the increased interest from outside talent and in outside talent, Maxwell also pointed to the increase in private equity and venture capital backed human capital businesses – adding to the overall depth of the industry. Maxwell also noted the new titles making their way into the C-suite searches she and Gerard Stewart are taking on, including Chief People Officer, Chief Talent Officer and Head of Talent.

“It’s a time of change and disruption in human capital. This year we saw Uber enter the staffing space and there is an influx of technology as everyone tries to strike the balance between tech and people power,” added Maxwell. “We’re far from a static industry and I look forward to seeing what’s in store for all of us next year.”
